The UK NPAS (National Police Air Service) has awarded the contract to deliver 4 role-equipped fixed-wing surveillance aircraft to Airborne Technologies. With the introduction of this new generation of fixed-wing aircraft to the helicopter-dominated fleet, UK NPAS will enhance its capabilities and reduce its cost. In addition to substantial German police units, another important police force will now rely on the Austrian company that has established itself as the first choice partner for police aviation.

After an intensive warm-up phase, working side-by-side with NPAS and winning the contract for a 6-month trial, Wolfgang Grumeth, CEO of Airborne Technologies said, “Dealing with the requirements of one of the most advanced police forces was a great challenge. We put a lot of time and effort into understanding the individual needs, as well as the overall philosophy of the tender. Missionized with Airborne LINX the 4 aircraft will set new standards for missions with a heavy workload in a high pressured environment. In this configuration, the VULCANAIR P68 can be deployed to tasks so far reserved for bigger and much more expensive aircraft.
